The Jets made their first ripples in the Free Agency last night as former Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry put pen to paper on a one-year ‘prove it’ deal worth a reported $4million. Landry fills an apparent void at the safety spot, but whether he will partner incumbent Eric Smith or replace him alongside an as yet unidentified colleague remains to be determined. However it works out, the indications are that the Jets will be better at that spot than in 2011.

Hot off the wire comes news that the Jets have re-upped nose tackle and prospective free agent Sione Pouha ahead of the Free Agency period, which commences tomorrow at 9:00pm (or is it 8:00pm, American clocks changed already?) . Pouha won the UK Jets Player of the Year award in 2010 and is a member of the UK Jets Hall of Fame.
